About Us
My healing journey began when attempting to find alternative ways of coping with anxiety, depression and tobacco use. My life was a bit of a mess historically, and I needed to find more balance in the midst of the madness. As a survivor of childhood sexual, and physical abuse, my symptoms worsened after sustaining a C7 spinal cord injury as a result of a motor vehicle accident in 2000. Traditional forms of healing, such as counselling and anti- depressive medications did not get to the deeper roots of my trauma. Although I got sober, I still lived with a lot of drama and large emotional ups and downs. After experiencing a reduction in symptoms when receiving hands- on healing I was amazed with the changes in my life! I finally began to feel like I was settled and comfortable in my own skin. So I began studying Polarity Therapy, and started a regular meditation practice.
After gaining many skills with practitioner Lilli Swanson, the spark of becoming a healer was lit in my heart!
I continued training with Jan Pemberton, an international Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy teacher. Furthering my skills, I began integrating Indigenous Knowledge and teachings in my life. This began in 2003 when I spent 6 weeks in the Inuit community of Pangnirtung Nunavut, and continued with Peruvian, East African and Mohawk traditional medicines.
With a background in social work, and as a White settler Ally, I am deeply focused on personal and social change from an anti-racist and anti-oppressive approach.
